Our IT Horizons Story

Jarret, our Senior IT Support Analyst, looks after our clients’ advanced technical needs and makes it feel easy for them to use tech. Whether clients are experiencing email problems or server and advanced networking issues, he’s got the skills to figure out the best solution for each client’s unique challenges. Jarret is an IT veteran with over 20 years of hands-on experience and a Diploma in Electronics Engineering.  

One of our focuses here has always been providing great IT support alongside great customer service. That means you can’t just be good at IT skills to work here; you must also be good with people. Jarret does both and provides mentorship and guidance on technical matters to the rest of our team, including our junior resources.

Interesting Fact: Jarret loves tinkering with tech and cars—sometimes at the same time.

Paul has worked in the technology industry for over eight years in a mix of both IT and software development, and his experience and skills are essential to his role as IT Support Analyst. His software development experience ranges from testing and development to managing teams.

Paul is passionate about cybersecurity, technology, and leveraging applications to solve human challenges. Every day, you’ll find him addressing technical issues for customers, ensuring their computer systems and devices run seamlessly. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, graduating at the top of his class.

Interesting Fact: Paul was once in a band that competed at a national level and won a wildlife conservation award for the song they wrote.

As President, Alex leads the technical side of our team and operations. He’s the perfect blend of business smarts and crunchy nerdiness. Alex is an expert IT Manager, IT consultant, and System Administrator. He’s responsible for day-to-day business processes at IT Horizons and continuously improves our workflows to ensure every client request gets the full attention it deserves.

Alex is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional in Server Virtualization, who studied Music at UBC and Computer Science and Mathematics at UNBC. He moved to Grande Prairie in 2002.

With his extensive expertise and experience in the technology ecosystem alongside entrepreneurial and business chops, Alex brings valuable consulting and practical solutions to our customers.

Interesting Fact: When Alex isn’t busy helping our customers build strategies, he’s playing music or hanging out in the wilderness.

Angie’s role as Partner at IT Horizons is building relationships with people and organizations and then supporting the team as they take good care of them. She’s a proud Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) member and an innovative Indigenous leader who’s passionate about empowering others and pursuing Economic Reconciliation through her business and personal activities. Her friendly attitude makes working through tough issues much easier, and she’s always ready to share a laugh with clients.

Angie holds a Diploma in IT and an MBA in Indigenous Business Leadership (IBL) from Simon Fraser University. She’s passionate about data residency and data sovereignty to protect Indigenous data and uses every opportunity to share about this with others. Angie’s also currently working on her Plain Language Certificate from SFU.

She has over 20 years of experience in the technology and design fields, and her specialties include outreach, team collaboration, leadership, data sovereignty, design, and client services.

Combining Angie and Alex’s experience and tech skills with their innovation and planning is leading to big things for IT Horizons and our clients. Every day is a new opportunity to make things safer, easier, and more accessible.

Interesting Fact: Angie is also an Indigenous artist. You can find her art at www.aanji.ca, and she’s involved in artistic outreaches including a Métis children’s book and many Indigenous designs.
